three real estate tips for home buyers

As a newer real estate agent, I am learning ALL THE THINGS, and I want to share those lessons with you to make any of your real estate endeavors as easy as possible! Here are three quick tips for those of you looking to buy a home:

  1. If you are looking to buy a home, be sure you are pre-approved before searching. This is because the market has super low inventory right now and if you find a home you love, you’ll want to make an offer asap! When submitting an offer, your real estate agent will want to share your pre-approval letter with the offer. Getting this done will ahead of time will speed up the process.

  2. A local lender is best!! I’ve had several examples of where an out-of-town lender can really muck up the process. A local lender not only knows the area better, but they have more local tools at their disposal for things like appraisals, vendors, and contractors. Keep it local and this will keep things moving smoothly. I have terrific recommendations for local lenders if you need one!

  3. Be sure you’re working with an agent to help you find your home. Realtors have access to a private network of homes that aren’t released onto platforms like Zillow or Homes.com. This is especially helpful in a market with low inventory, such as we’re experiencing right now. He or she can set you up on an automated search with your requirements and wishes and you will receive updated results (including the private network) as they hit the market. You’ll be the first to know when a home is available that suits your needs.
